Oldonyiro is among the most severely degraded areas in Isiolo County. Decades of unsustainable environmental practices, including widespread deforestation and overgrazing, have triggered extensive soil erosion that continues to scar the landscape with deepening gullies.
For the past twelve years, my life has revolved around my bodaboda. It has been more than just a job — it has been the means by which I have survived, provided for my family, and faced the struggles of daily life.
Every morning, I wake up before the sun rises, check my bike, and hit the roads, transporting people from one corner of the town to another. Rain or shine, day or night, my life has been on the streets, meeting people, solving problems, and earning every coin honestly. But despite the hard work, the long hours, and the risks I face every day, my life has remained a struggle.
