I still remember that day like it happened yesterday. The sun was blazing over Nairobi, and the queue seemed endless. I had come for a job interview with hope, determination, and a little fear. When I arrived, I saw the line stretching far beyond the gate — at least 1,200 people waiting for the same opportunity I had been dreaming about for months. My heart sank, but I told myself I had to be patient. After all, opportunity knocks only once, or so I believed.
The waiting was brutal. Hours passed slowly. We were standing shoulder to shoulder under the sun, some of us hungry, others thirsty, all of us anxious. I watched faces around me — some calm, some nervous, some visibly frustrated.
