Airtel has made some few changes on the transaction charges of Airtel Money in 2021.

Basically because of the Covid-19 pandemic the whole world is experiencing, the costs have been reduced.

Airtel has waived all person to person transaction fees for Airtel Money customers across all the bands.

Airtel Money Tariffs has been updated as of January 1st 2021. Active immediately.

Below are the new Airtel Money charges for withdrawal, transfer money from Airtel to Airtel users and transfer of money from Airtel to other networks, such as Safaricom M-Pesa and Telkom.

Here is how to register for Airtel Money if you haven’t registered yet.

How to register for Airtel Money in Kenya

With your airtel Sim card and your national ID, you can easily register for airtel money by simply visiting the nearest Airtel agent.

Don’t worry, it will take you like 20 minutes to be registered as an airtel money user.

You will be asked a few questions that will enable your Airtel Sim to be registered to Airtel money

The entire process will be FREE of charge. You will not pay anything to be registered as an Airtel money user in Kenya.

Once registered, all you need to do is activate your account, put in a strong password and you are done, you will be assisted through all this steps by the agent.

You can now be able to use your Airtel Money to, pay your bills, pay school fees, pay water bills, pay for your electricity bill, buy airtime for your number or other numbers, send money to any mobile network in Kenya, withdraw cash at an Airtel Money agent, withdraw cash at the bank or an ATM, and also have Mobile Banking.

Now here is the 2021 Airtel Money Charges and Tariffs

Please Note the following:

Charges waived for transfers from Airtel Money account to the bank account

The maximum amount per transaction for Airtel Money has been increased from Ksh. 70,000 to Ksh. 150,000

The current tariff for mobile money transactions for Ksh.70,000 will apply for transactions up to Ksh. 150,000

The daily limit for mobile money transactions are also increased from Ksh. 140,000 to Ksh. 300,000

The new charges are 1bob and 2bob for bands, Ksh10-49 and Ksh50-100 respectively after your first 3 transactions.

Airtel Money account balance limit has also been increased from Ksh. 140,000 to Ksh. 300,000

How to Send Money from Airtel Money to MPESA

This process is as easy as ABC, make sure you have enough money on your Airtel Money account and follow this easy steps

On your mobile phone.

· Dial *222#

· Select Send Money

· Select send to M-Pesa

· Enter the recipients(safaricom) mobile number

· Enter Amount

· Confirm transaction details

· Enter your PIN

· Press okay

That’s it! Your money will be transferred from your Airtel Money account to the MPESA number you provided, in no time.

For confirmation, you will receive a message from Airtel confirming that the money has been sent to MPESA successfully.
