President William Ruto launched the construction of the Taifa Gas LPG terminal in Mombasa.

The project that aims to lower the cost of cooking gas in Kenya and which has led to President Ruto announcing plans to make cooking gas tax-free.

The Taifa Gas terminal has a capacity of 30,000 tons of LPG.

Who owns Taifa Gas?.

Taifa Gas is owned by Tanzanian business magnate and billionaire Rostam Aziz.

As of today, Taifa Gas is currently Tanzania’s largest LPG supply company and has been feeding the Kenyan retail market via road.

Taifa Gas Prices In Kenya:

In Nairobi, retailers like Total Energies refill the 6kg gas cylinder for KES. 1,540 and the 13kg cylinder for KES. 3,330.

These prices will definitely go down sooner or later.

The Taifa Gas LPG terminal is expected to lower these costs by eliminating road transport fees and increasing supplier competition.

This project will also allow Kenya to export LPG cooking gat to neighboring countries like Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi.

Taifa Gas Jobs In Kenya:

Kenyans to get over 90,000 jobs after Taifa Gas entry in the country.

According to the head of commercial communication Angela Boke, residents near the construction site of the 30-acre project, have been involved in preparing the land for construction, therefore creating employment already.

Taifa Gas to be up and running within 12 months, the plan is to start work within 1 year max.

Taifa Gas has been seeking permission to enter the local gas market since 2017.
