What is NHIF Outpatient?

The NHIF outpatient services, are medical services, offered at a client’s preferred hospital. In this case, the ‘client’ is the NHIF insurance beneficiary.

A client of NHIF outpatient is allowed to choose or change the the hospital they want to receive medical services from, for as long as the hospital is an accredited NHIF outpatient health institution.

NHIF outpatient beneficiary can receive medical insurance cover on: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Computerized Tomography (CT) scan
Ultra Sound
Chemotherapy
Radiotherapy
Minor and majoy Surgical treatments
Maternity coverage of normal and caesarian deliveries in category A and B.
Brachytherapy
Renal dialysis
Kidney transplant (the donor is covered) among others.
