Presently in Gilgil, Nakuru County, is President William Ruto attending the pass-out procession of National Youth Service graduates.

The president arrived, looked over the parade, and then stood at the podium. In this 87th NYS recruit pass-out parade, around 10,000 people are being graduated.
The recruits, who have been through a rigorous six-month training program, showcased their “excellent” formation and march past skills at a dress rehearsal on Monday.

Jamlick Chabari, the deputy director general in charge of the paramilitary training program, commended the administration, instructors, and recruits for their dedication and diligence over the course of the training.

They were chosen in a national mass recruitment drive in May. Moses Kuria, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Delivery Management, received a briefing last week from the acting Director General James Tembur

“We discussed the NYS commercialization and reengineering programmes which I am happy to note are on course as per the directive from President William Ruto,” he said.
