Here are all the documents you need to apply for a US visa in Kenya.

Documents Required for US Visa in Kenya:

A 2×2 passport photograph. Requirements

An immigration passport, which must be valid for 6 months after the intended stay.

A US visa application form.

(please note that no handwritten forms will be accepted by the US Embassy)

Proof of payment of the Application fee. Payments done through the Postbank or MPESA.

(Note that if you made your payment through Mpesa, you will need to provide a nine (9) digits code received via sms to confirm the Transaction)

(*US Visa Application fee is not refundable)

Proof of financial status – your original bank statement from a commercial bank recognized by the Central Bank of Kenya.

For students Visa you might need the following too.

Documents for Student Visa:

If you are a sponsored student, you must provide financial proof from your sponsor.

SEVIS I-901 fee must be paid to the Department of Homeland Security for individual-program.

(You can pay this fee via western union or mail) Payment must reflect on the Embassy’s system)

Apply for your student visa 4 months before school reopen.

A valid I-20 or DS-2019 form must indicate that you as the student has paid the unsubsidized cost of the education.

How to Apply for a US Visa in Kenya:

First thing to do is to complete the visa application form DS-160.

When done,

Create an account on the website and fill out all your travel information. (website link available below this post)

You should now print out a deposit slip in your account. The slip will be used to pay the visa application fee via Mpesa or Postbank.

Once you have completed your payment of the application fee.

Now enter the receipt number in your account on the Visa Service website.

You will be redirected to the calendar where you are expected to provide your dates.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

All applicants are required to book an interview appointment on U.S. Visa Service.

The Interview appointments are given on a first-come, first-served basis.

The earlier you can get there the better.

The interviews are conducted from Monday to Thursdays and those without complete requirements or documents may not be interviewed, so remember to keep that in mind.

The US Visa application processing takes between 2 to 3 working days. The time/days starts to be counted after the date of your interview.

It may take longer in some cases.

After everything is complete.

Your US Visa in Kenya will be available at the embassy and you can go pick it from there.
