The Ministry of Defence has announced new recruitments into Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in August and September 2023.

KDF is seeking to hire General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets (Regular and Graduate degree holders), Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen/women, and Defence Forces Constables among others.

The Kenya Defence Forces comprises of the Kenya Army, Kenya Air Force and Kenya Navy.

In Kenya, KDF officers not only make a monthly income from the government but they all also enjoy benefits that comes with being part of the Kenya Defense Force.

KDF salaries in Kenya depend highly on certain factors such as the rank, the number years one has been in service and other related factors.

Chief of Defence Forces is the highest paid officer in KDF rank making a monthly salary of around Ksh. 1.2 Million while the lowest paid KDF soldiers are the new recruits who make around 25,000 Kenyan shillings.

9. Lieutenant General – KES 632,984 to 800,000 per month.
